Click here to Read about Bob and Katie's Weight loss.

Katie and I are members of Weight Watchers (WW). Katie is a returning Life Time Member and I am at target and counting the weeks, I should become a Life Time Member of WW  on Saturday 30 August 2003! To date with eating right and WW I have lost over 80 pounds, %30 of my old body weights! When Katie reaches goal she will have lost %40 of her body weight.

Read about our weight loss and some tips and trick I learned along the way.

My wife Katie and I are active walkers. Between August 2001 and June 2002 we walked over 1000 miles in training for the Avon Breast Cancer walk, San Francisco 2002.  Katie walked 20 miles a day for three days in a row. They started in the Santa Clara at the Convention Center and ended at the Marina Green in San Francisco. I chased her, in the car, up and down the route all three days. I was waiting at every rest stop and every aid station to help her refill her water and keep her moving. Katie's mother worked as a volunteer for the walk and they shared a tent at night. It was an incredible walk. What a great experience!
Read about our training and the event.

We are trying  to walk 1 hour three times a week before work. This means getting up early, really early, 4:45 so we can walk from 5:00 to 6:00 and then get ready for work. We also walk on some weekends with the local AVA club (SLO-Soles).

I am a licensed amateur radio operator. I participate with the local Amateur Radio Emergency Services (ARES) and Radio Amateur Communications Emergency Services (RACES) through the
San Luis Obispo Emergency County Emergency Communications Council (SLOECC).

SLOECC was activated for the 22 December 2003 Paso Earthquake, here are some pictures from Paso.

Katie and I have joined the SLO Soles AVA walking club in Templeton CA. The American Volkssporting Association's (AVA) theme is:
  • It is a fun
  • It is an activity you do with a friend, a pet or by yourself
  • It is walking for health
  • It is friendly
  • Not competitive
  • Not fund raising
  • Not a race
  • Not a pledge

Come walk with us www.slosoles.org

I am a long time Model Train hobbyist.
