Painting at
933 Patria Circle
Bob and Katie's

The wonderful thing about owning a house, you do not have to ask if you can paint. You can just add color when and where you want. The painting is adding color, life and warmth to the house.

September 2005, we added some color to the Front Room.

Here is the before shot. All the walls are white. No color, no life.

We talked and talked and talked about whether to do just paint the end wall or the end wall and the side up to the fireplace.

After seeing just the one wall we decided to do both.

We then sponged a deeper terracotta red over the top.

October 2005, now that we had color on two walls, we realized how sterile the white walls looked. We decided the "Terra Cotta" walls would look better against something other than white. We selected a very light tan, almost the color of coffee with lots of cream in it.

Here is the front room with the side walls painted the light brown. The room is much warmer now.

We left under the cabinets in the kitchen white. Here you can really see the color of the tan walls.

Once Katie got started she could not stop and so color was also added to the master bedroom in October.

We added a purple to the wall around the closet doors.

Next we added a almost milks chocolate color to the other three walls.

I wanted to paint the walls a dark color to cut down on the reflective light. The Slider and window above it face south and a little east, the morning sun shines right in. I hope this helps keep the room a little darker in the morning.
