   Here are some of the food that have helped us on our journey to better health.

Progresso Canned Soup
We found the Progresso soup to be very good and low in points. These are two serving cans and vary from 2 to 6 points for the entire can.

Sugar Free Pudding
Vanilla, Butterscotch, White Chocolate and Banana Cream are one point per 1/2 cup serving. The Chocolate and Dutch Chocolate are two points per 1/2 cup serving.

For an extra treat, put a half of a banana in the bottom of a dish then add the pudding. Half a banana, 1 point, 1/2 cup vanilla pudding 1 point, a great two point desert. Or use Chocolate pudding (1/2 cup 2 points) with 1/2 banana for a three point desert.

Air Popped Popcorn
Try it, it is not that bad. Once you start to eat popcorn without butter you will like it. No more greasy fingers after eating popcorn. You can eat popcorn and work on the computer without messing up your keyboard. 2 Tablespoons of kernels is one point, about five cups popped.

Cottage Cheese

Orowheat Light Bread
Oroweat makes three kinds of low calorie bread, Wheat, 9 Grain and Potato. One point for two slices. The slices are a little smaller then normal bread but for one point what do you want. No more 1/2 sandwiches.

Boca Veggie Products
Try them, we like them. We serve a Boca Burger on Oroweat Light Bread with tomatoes and lettuce. The Originals are one point each, the Flame Grilled are two and the Chicken are three points each. Short on points one night? Pop a Boca Burger in the broiler, drop it on some Oroweat bread, only two points. Serve it with some WW Zero Point Vegetable soup. Check the package, some burgers are 1 point each and some are two points each.

Western Reduced Carbs Bagels
One point bagels! OK, so they are a little smaller then the normal bagel, but only one point! They are 1.9 points but in WW terms that is still one point.

Frozen Dessert Bars
You can have dessert. Check out the Popsicle brand of Sugar Free Frozen desserts. Fudgesicles one point each, Creamsicles two for one point, Popsicles four for one point,  Breyers Fruit Bars one point each.

Also look for Skinny Cows, they are too good. The point is to look and you will find lots of low point alternatives for dessert.

Frozen Banana
We cut bananas in half (one point servings) and freeze them. We then eat a frozen banana for dessert.

Save and wash the sticks from your frozen dessert bars and put the bananas a a stick.

For two points, cut up half a frozen banana and a Fudgesicle into a bowl.

For two points, eat a frozen banana with a 1/2 cup of vanilla pudding.

WARNING: do not thaw out a frozen banana, they turn brown and get really soft. Not a good thing.

Celeste Frozen Pizza
Looking for a fast meal that is not too high in points. Check out the Celeste Frozen Cheese Pizza, the entire pizza is only 8 points. Better yet, split the Pizza with someone for 4 points, add a side salad, veggie and desert. Instant meal.

Classico Pasta Sauce
All pasta sauce is not equal. Read the labels, the Classico is around 60 calories per 1/2 cup serving, or 1 point. If you do the math you can have 1.5 servings for 1 point. Many other brands of pasta sauce are 100 or more calories per serving, read the labels before you buy.

Girard's Salad Dressing
Girard's makes some excellent Fat Free low calorie salad dressings. These two are 1 point for 3 tablespoons! That is a lot of dressing for one point.

Egg Beaters
(Egg Substitutes)
We like the egg substitutes, we use them in scrambles and other such things. Sometime we use them to "stretch" real eggs. They are very low in points. A real egg is 2 points.

We like the Egg Beaters brand, it has a screw cap, some of the others open like a carton of milk. 1/4 cup of Egg Beaters is equal to 1 large egg.

15 Bean Soup
Bean soup is a great dinner, 4 points per cup and full of fiber. Pour 1/4 to 1/2 cup over a baked potato, and it is a different meal. Eat it on a cold day and it will warm you up from the inside out.

Hot Cereal
Oat meal, Cream of Wheat, Bob's Red Mill 8 Grain Wheatless Cereal. It does not take long to make hot cereal, 5 to 10 minutes. We eat 1/3 cup (measured dry then cooked) with with 1/4 cup of milk and 1/8 cup of raisins, only 3 points. To change it a little, I sometimes add cinnamon or vanilla or use banana or apple. Take an extra 10 minutes and make yourself hot cereal in the morning.

We buy the Bob's Red mill cereal at a local health food store.

Instant Hot Cereal
We found some very good low point instant hot cereal in a cup. They are 3 or 4 point each. We have been buying the Spice Hunter Brand, there are others too.

Look for the Good Seasons Fat Free Italian mix. It is very good.

Sour Cream
Fat Free Sour Cream is very low in calories. It is not "regular" sour cream, but one tablespoon on a backed potato or in a burrito is wonderful. Use just small amount to put the finishing touch on a dish.

Tortilla
Check out the La Tortilla Whole Wheat Low Carb Tortillas. Less then a point for 1, 2 points for 2. They taste great!

Ice Cream

Silhouette makes great low fat low calorie ice cream and ice cream sandwiches. The ice cream sandwiches are also called "Skinny Cows". They come in a six pack, 2 points each.

Rice

Check out the variety of rice; White, Brown, Red, California Rice Trilogy. Look in Trader Joe's for a good selection of different Rice.
